Joshua Davis Studios was hired to create the “visual identity” or “Avatar” for IBM’s Watson, which will air on February 14th, 15th, and 16th 2011, when it plays Jeopardy against two former Grand Champions, Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter.

Our studio then hired Branden Hall of Automata Studios to help in creation of the avatar which viewers will see on television. So Joshua’s and Branden’s “Grand Challenge” was could we develop this flawlessly using Adobe’s Flash technology and the HYPE Framework…

The answer Alex is… “what is YES ?!”

Here are some great news links, with photos and videos that show off all of our hard work on this epic project !

yes HYPE finally gets a new happy home – hypeframework.org

When I constantly pestered Branden Hall to help me with this idea I had… I had an assumption of what I thought HYPE would be… simply a place for Joshua Davis to port 11 years of ideas into. I saw the relationship as Mr. Hall infesting my brain with a structure that I’d start with… Branden goes away, and does what he does, and I’d be 100% invested with taking this seed knowledge planted by Branden and discovering what happens next. Which is why the project was parked at http://hype.joshuadavis.com

Well that’s not what happened.

HYPE became something bigger than just 1 person. HYPE is a partnership between Branden Hall and myself. If the both of us we’re going to be 100% committed to the future and maintenance of HYPE, then HYPE needed to be parked on its own domain so that people understand that this project is co-founded and co-maintained by the both of us.

To add to HYPE’s expansion we have a great community of people working on HYPE as well… to name a few, Dr. Woohoo, Andy McDonald, Si Robertson, Jesse Freeman, and many others.

So welcome to HYPE’s new happy home… we hope you enjoy the URL change… please update your bookmarks.
